How did that happen?
Anyway, here's what we've been up to this week...
Anyway, here's what we've been up to this week...
...geography study with Holling C. Holling's Paddle-to-the-Sea...
...some fun library books...
...talking about prepositions...
...and making some fun posters for the classroom...
...reading The Swiss Family Robinson and working on our map...
...and just a little bit of boring-but-necessary stuff...
...you know, the usual insanity!
Have a super-awesome weekend!
Ha! Ha! Insanity is on the checklist! I love "Swiss Family Robinson." It looks like you all had a great week. I need to get the cursive loopety loop things out to practice too! I'm Nikki, stopping by from the weekly wrap-up linky. Nice to "meet" you.
ReplyDeleteLove the insanity sign! Can I borrow it?
ReplyDeleteWe just finished reading Swiss Family Robinson, I expected boys to like it a little bit more - maybe next time... And yes, we don't have problems with free reading either! There is just something about it... :)
oh, wow, loved the "insanity" on the checklist!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat week! I love that you relate Geography with reading! Paddle-to-the-Sea and Swiss Family are some of my favorites, but the kids can't seem to get into Paddle. (They enjoy Swiss Family though.) LOL at Insanity! Stopping by from the Weekly Wrap-up!
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy but fun week! I have not seen the wall calendar before...great idea.
ReplyDeleteBecca
Insanity on the checklist...does that get checked off everyday? Because it sure would here! Love to see what other people are doing. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love the whiteboard photo!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI wrote "insanity" on the board because my kids were hopping around being various wild animals at the moment. It was a transition time between two lessons and they needed to burn some energy!
We're doing Beautiful Feet's Geography Through Literature and we just love it so far! The kids aren't super crazy about the map work, but we're breaking it up into very small sessions, which helps!
Insanity describes our transition times as well! Lol! Sometimes just Mom.
ReplyDeleteWe started the beatiful feet when they were younger..finished Paddle. Then put it down for a couple (or three) years.. Now, at 9,14,15.. They love the map work (because its easy) and can do more 'further reading'. We are on Tree in the Trail. And yes, they have survived until 9,14,15 without knowing exactly where ALL the states are! Lol!
The children may not like the map work now, but they will be proud of the finished project!
