So thankful for those beautiful birds in the middle of a dull, grey day! We have a beautiful male cardinal often in our back yard- gorgeous! And a Cooper's Hawk occasionally visits the pole in the back.

Love the photos of your school projects!

Hi, Denise! The magpie and the flicker were the only ones brave enough to come out during the blizzard, but we also get juncos, bushtits, house finches, and an occasional blue jay. I grew up in TX, and I really miss those gorgeous cardinals!

We are enjoying the birds here also! They are so easy to spot with all of this crazy snow here in the South!!! Looks like a terrific week!

So, as my ten-year-old might say, you are learning about modern dinosaurs :-)

We did a little dance the other day, because amidst all the snow and sub-freezing temps we've been having, we saw about a dozen First Robins of Spring, eating nuts from a tree at a friend's house. Such a nice reminder that spring is coming!

Cheers, and happy rest-of-winter -
Karen

Robins? Hooray! Haven't seen any here, but we're enjoying our feeder birds. Spring can't be too far away now!
