I love this idea! We're a pretty green family, and this would be a great way to work with graphs, and learn more bout recycling. Thanks for posting this :)

The kids really enjoyed this project, and it was a good way to practice using tally marks and then converting the data to a bar graph.
It was a learning experience for me, too! I was surprised to see how much plastic we still use--I have been trying to pack drinks in reusable bottles so we aren't so tempted to grab a soda when we're out running errands, etc. Looks like I need to try a bit harder!
